The latest roundup of POS headlines from July proves that payment security is the priority for many POS technology vendors and operators. This month stories ranged from advanced technologies emerging for payment security to properties implementing point-of-sale systems that would seamlessly integrate with other systems.


Domino's Pizza is bringing its mobile ordering technology to Amazon's Kindle Fire with the release of the Domino's Pizza app into the Amazon Appstore for Android. This marks Domino's first appearance in the Amazon Appstore for Android and the company's first Android tablet app. The app joins an already strong mobile ordering lineup that features apps for both the Apple iPhone and Android phones, along with a full-featured mobile ordering site at mobile.dominos.com.
 
When the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto is unveiled as the brand's new flagship hotel on October 5, Intelity’s ICE (Interactive Customer Experience) Touch guest self-service technology will be on iPads in every room. Powered by Intelity, in-room tablets will allow guests to order room service, adjust room controls, schedule spa appointments, and request wake-up calls, in addition to 30 other services. The ICE technology will also be available on guests’ personal smartphones and tablets via a free download.
 
 
The Zetter Hotel has selected Xn Hotel Systems and will roll out the protel property management system and the dotPOS point of sale in September of 2012.
