iPad Claims Tablet Casualty
Hewlett-Packard's much-ballyhooed TouchPad tablet is a record-fast casualty of the battle against Apple's iPad, reports USA Today’s Scott Martin. HP announced on Thursday that it is pulling the plug on its TouchPad tablet device, which was launched June 1, and plans to discontinue its WebOS-based smartphones. HP CEO Leo Apotheker says that the decision is the result of a number of factors, including “significant competition.”
