MICROS Selects Odyssey Software to Provide Device Management for Its POS Workstations

Odyssey Software, Inc., a provider of enterprise-class mobile device management (MDM) products, announced that MICROS Systems, Inc., a developer of enterprise applications serving the hospitality and specialty retail industries, will utilize Odyssey's Athena management software in its MICROS hardware line, including MICROS Workstation 4LX, MICROS Workstation 5, and the MICROS Keyboard Workstation 270.
 
With more than 310,000 workstations installed worldwide, MICROS serves restaurants, hotels, the leisure and entertainment industry, and specialty retail stores with complete information management solutions including software, hardware, enterprise systems integration, consulting and support. Odyssey's remote management software enables MICROS to detect device problems, such as incorrect configuration settings, and quickly resolve them. This interactive approach minimizes downtime, reduces the average handling time, and substantially improves first call resolution.

Athena enables organizations to leverage their existing enterprise infrastructure investments for comprehensive remote and mobile device management. Athena is a client side agent that is uniquely designed to operate within a small memory footprint, taking few CPU cycles, making Athena an efficient and ideal addition to the native MICROS firmware. Contrary to traditional management offerings, Athena is specifically architected to be flexible, modular, and seamless to integrate.
