Touchscreens Become the Concierge at Marriott Nashville Airport
Marriott Nashville Airport prides itself on being an industry leader in the hospitality field and is always on the lookout for new additions to the property that will enhance the guest experience whether it is a new vendor, a fresh technology, or guest incentives.
Earlier this month, Shannon Bowles, the area general manager of the Nashville Airport Marriott, was looking for a new technology that would provide both business and leisure travelers a unique, touch-screen interactive guide to local businesses and restaurant information. After having familiarized themselves with the Uniguest SecuredAdvantage computer security software and their local area 'QuickScoop Guides,' Marriott and Uniguest CEO, Shawn Thomas, made the decision to test a new concierge application that utilizes the HP TouchSmart dx9000 in the Marriott main lobby area. Having previously merged with US Hospitality in January of 2009, Uniguest SecuredAdvantage software and Concierge Station technology had never been attempted on multiple touch-screen system applications involving online, software, and printable platforms. The Marriott hotel is currently utilizing three custom applications (on five separate systems) developed by Uniguest all in the lobby area of their hotel. These include a boarding pass kiosk, business center Internet kiosks, and the concierge station
