Amber Adds EMV Card Processing to Vigore POS
Amber Systems Technologies (AST), a developer of POS software for the restaurant and other industries, integrated EMV chip card processing from Moneris Solutions Corporation (Moneris) into its Vigore POS restaurant management software.
The integration enables Vigore POS users to begin accepting EMV credit and debit cards well ahead of the October 2015 liability shift of some types of card fraud from card issuers to businesses that don’t accept EMV chip cards.
In addition, as more and more EMV chip cards are issued and more customers start paying with them, restaurants and retailers that use Vigore POS can be ready to accept the new cards. Utilizing a single software solution to manage all aspects of operations and also process credit and debit card payments helps to streamline operations, reduce costs and improve overall efficiency.

Clutch launched a strategic technology partnership with POS on Cloud, a provider of cloud-based point-of-sale (POS) software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions. Through this partnership, POS on Cloud retaurants/merchants will reportedly be able to leverage consumer intelligence and engagement solutions available through Clutch’s Consumer Management platform to identify, understand and engage their customers like never before.

Bindo Debuts New iPad POS Platform
Cloud-based business management provider Bindo debuted a beta version of its new iPad POS system, Bindo POS for Restaurant. The company secured $2 million in funding from strategic investors eager to see the POS solution expand into new verticals.
Bindo will use the investment to launch the new POS system globally, enabling restaurant owners to have one complete and holistic business solution that can integrate telephone orders, online ordering, table management, reservations, and ingredient-level tracking all in one platform.
PAR Launches 8th Generation POS Terminal for Restaurants
ParTech, Inc. launched EverServ 8000 Series platform, the company’s 8th generation point-of-sale (POS) terminal that uses an innovative industrial design and the latest Intel (6th generation) Processor Technology, intended to maximize performance and enhance the guest experience.
The EverServ 8500 takes advantage of the newest 6th generation Intel Core processor family. It is based on the latest 14nm processor technology delivering up to 21% faster speed compared to the previous generation. This newest generation processor magnifies power and performance by amplifying graphic operations by 34%.
Zebra Unveils Customizable, Enterprise-Class Tablets
Zebra Technologies Corporation introduced the next-generation ET50 and ET55 tablet computers, with the intent to increase workforce productivity. In the hospitality industry, the tablets have a wide variety of customizable applications, including: Interactive Menus--The tablet can be placed on a table and utilized as an interactive menu. It’s IP65-sealing-certified so it can offer reliable operations despite exposure to dust, spilled water and more.
HotSchedules and Future POS Partner to Reduce Labor Costs
Future POS will now offer a HotSchedules integration, which will enable restaurants to accurately forecast labor needs, enforce accurate clock-in times and control overtime, all leading to reduced labor costs. The Future POS integration with HotSchedules enables managers to build their schedule using actual sales data from Future POS. HotSchedules users that rely on POS forecasts to create their schedules typically reduce labor costs by two to four percent. The integration will also help to prevent unnecessary overtime, and it will simplify schedule enforcement.
Ziosk Launches Tablet Security and Payment Suite
Ziosk, maker of the ordering, entertainment and pay-at-the table tablet, is launching what it calls an “industry-first” security and payment solutions suite for its restaurant partners that includes: Apple Pay, as well as other mobile payment solutions, Europay MasterCard Visa (EMV) contact and contactless cards and Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE). This solution suite is fully upgradable and compatible with existing Ziosk tablets.
SpeedLine POS Adds Secure EMV and NFC Payment Options
A new software release from pizza and delivery point of sale developer SpeedLine Solutions adds secure and flexible EMV payment options for restaurants. The new EMV options safeguard restaurants from the transfer of liability for chip card-present credit card fraud. A chip card reader at the point of sale also raises guest confidence that their payments are secure.
The focus of this new software release is payment security—with enhancements to meet the new requirements of PCI-DSS 3.1 as well as EMV.
