McDonalds to Debut Table Service, Self-Serve Kiosks
Soon, all 14,000 U.S. McDonalds locations will offer customers table service. Customers will place orders using a digital kiosk, or at the counter, and will choose to either take their food to-go or have their meal served to them at their table. The kiosks make it easier to customize an order and appeal to large families or groups with complicated orders.
McDonalds offers table service in New York City, Florida and Southern California and is planning to implement it in Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle by early 2017. McDonalds also plans to introduce mobile ordering next year, where customers will be able to order and pay for their food from their smartphones.
