Mammoth Mountain Taps EasyRMS for Portfolio-Wide Revenue Management

The entire portfolio of properties operated by Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, located in the Eastern Sierra Mountains of California, will implement Easy (Ez) Revenue Management Solutions Ltd's (EasyRMS) EzRMS product suite.

Mammoth Mountain attracts a wide range of people, including some who go for the 150 ski trails, others for the 3,100 feet of vertical, and a few who go with their sights set on exploring the 3,500 acres of spectacular mountain terrain. The area is notable for the unusually large amount of snowfall it receives - around 400" annually - but Mammoth is equally popular in the summer, with activities such as biking, hiking, golfing and fishing or the nearby access to Yosemite National Park, when visitors can enjoy a jaw-dropping mountain setting graced by consistently warm and sunny weather.

The four properties deploying the EzRMS solution include The Village Lodge, with 188 rooms, Juniper Springs Resort, with 171 rooms, Mammoth Mountain Inn, with 217 rooms and Tamarack Lodge, with 46 rooms.

The resorts will benefit from the entire suite of fully integrated products offered by EasyRMS, including portfolio-wide forecasting and optimization based on Total Revenue across all market segments and room categories, a specific Group module, an innovative Dynamic Budgeting product and web-based Competitive Rate shopping. A full two-way interface will be installed for the Visual One PMS used across all properties as well as an upload interface to EZYield.com's Channel Management product.

Ran Weerasuriya, Mammoth's director of revenue management, comments: "During the selection process, we looked at revenue management systems that offered robust forecasting and analytics, optimal rate management by market segment and distribution channel, and the tools to support total hotel revenue management. It was also important that vendors had a proven track record of successfully implementing the system, and reliable customer support." Weerasuriya continues, "We decided to partner with EasyRMS after assessing that their solution met all our initial requirements but also that theirs was the only system with the current technology to properly handle our multi-building PMS configuration."

Following the implementation of EzRMS, Mammoth expect to see an improvement in the quality of their forecasting and decision making thanks to the comprehensive tools that the system provides, explains Weerasuriya. "We also look forward to the efficiency it will bring to managing and propagating availability, rates and restriction controls, through the interface, to our various distribution channels. Ultimately, we believe EzRMS will help us maximise revenue opportunities for each of our market segments and sustain RevPAR growth."
