Fiesta Restaurant Group Creates CIO Role

Fiesta Restaurant Group, the parent company of the Taco Cabana and Pollo Tropical brands, promoted Ryan Nowlin to the newly created position of CIO.

Nowlin, who has been with the company since Sept. 2012, is responsible for all strategic information systems and technology in alignment with the company’s goals.

“Ryan has been instrumental in the successful development and execution of a number of IT and technology initiatives which were identified as part of the company’s renewal program, helping transform the Taco Cabana and Pollo Tropical brands including a new loyalty program and off-site ordering and consumption strategies,” said Richard Stockinger, Fiesta Restaurant Group president and CEO. “By creating this new position of chief information officer, we will ensure that technology continues to be an integral part of our overall strategy for brand renewal and growth as we head into 2018.”

Nowlin graduated with a bachelor’s degree in information technology from the University of Phoenix in 2004 and earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University in 2006.
