Classic Manhattan Hotel Renovates and Streamlines Ops with RFID Inventory

5/30/2013
The famed New York Palace in Manhattan is currently undergoing a total transformation that includes upgrades to many areas of the elegant property. Its $140,000,000 renovation will establish the hotel as a new luxury standard bearer in New York City. The New York Palace’s renovated Towers Rooms and Suites feature sophisticated, modern design elements and an array of state-of-the-art amenities. However, the renovation was more than skin deep. Property operators wanted to also streamline operations and create a more efficient hotel. One part of the property’s transformation included automation of the uniform system from InvoTech Systems that delivers garments to more than 1,000 employees.

UHF-RFID uniform system automates manual processes, increases efficiency
The New York Palace installed an ultra-high frequency radio frequency identification (UHF-RFID) uniform system from InvoTech Systems along with a high-speed White Conveyors U-Pick-It uniform delivery system as part of its renovation. The property’s revitalization emphasized advanced technologies that increase efficiency and automate manual processes such as uniform tracking, management, and delivery. InvoTech is a leading provider of advanced Uniform, Linen, and Laundry Management Systems that leverage UHF-RFID technology and paperless reporting that saves time and money for companies around the world.

The New York Palace tapped AJ Conveyor and Laundry Systems to design, supply, and install the hotel’s state-of-the-art automated uniform conveyor system. InvoTech’s Uniform System communicates with the White Conveyors U-Pick-It uniform delivery system to reduce labor and operating expenses by automating management of over 10,000 uniforms at The New York Palace.

The New York Palace has 813 guest rooms and 86 suites, including the prominent Towers accommodations, showcasing exceptional views of the city skyline, elegant furnishings and enhanced features. In addition to full concierge services and a lengthy list of in-room amenities, The Palace offers 22,000 square feet of unique meeting and event space, a fitness center and spa; and a convenient location that positions the property as an ideal choice among Midtown luxury hotels for business or leisure guests.
