Zetter Hotel Adopts new PMS and POS to Yield Benefits of Integrated Interfaces

7/26/2012
The Zetter Hotel has selected Xn Hotel Systems and will roll out the protel property management system and the dotPOS point of sale in September of 2012. Opened in March 2004, The Zetter is the brainchild of fellow restaurateurs Michael Benyan and Mark Sainsbury. Having worked together previously on another Clerkenwell stalwart - the highly acclaimed Moro restaurant - 2001 saw them join forces again to buy an old Victorian warehouse building in the heart of the neighborhood, and embark upon a massive hotel renovation project.

Named The Zetter, as it was once home to the football pools company of the same name, the newly transformed 59-room boutique hotel and restaurant opened three years’ on to instant acclaim. Praised by The Times, Time Out and Wallpaper among others, The Zetter was also voted one of the world’s ’50 coolest hotels’ by industry bible Conde Nast Traveler.

Eight years later, the management team embarked upon a lengthy and in-depth evaluation of PMS and EPoS solutions in the marketplace, with a view to replacing their legacy systems. Key selection criteria included proven interfaces to third party distribution, revenue management, accounts and other existing systems, as well as integrated conference, banqueting, sales and stock management functionality. Supplier pedigree was also crucial and many similar London hotels were consulted by the management team during the selection process. Xn Hotel Systems was selected in June, and the project to implement protel SPE and dotPOS is under way, with a live date in early September 2012.
