Samsung and Intelity Partner to Link In-Room TVs to PMS

4/22/2013
Samsung Electronics America and Intelity have announced an exclusive strategic partnership. Samsung LYNK SINC will provide entertainment; television; welcome guests by name on a “Welcome” screen; allow guests to both view the folio of their stay and to checkout at the end of their stay. Guests can view information about the hotel, its restaurants, spa, transportation and amenity information and local shopping and attraction information.

Intelity's robust platform will effectively bridge Samsung’s LYNK SINC and the hotel's property management system. Hotels can also upgrade the system to include in-room dining or various guest services and leverage other interactivity of Intelity's ICE functions and third-party integrations.

Intelity will be responsible for design, content build, staff training, professional services and ongoing maintenance and support. With Samsung’s LYNK SINC, hoteliers can offer dynamic in-room entertainment experience without investing in costly VOD solutions. As the only true standalone “widget” solution, this internet based widget solution delivers enhanced HTML and rich text with protocols to communicate between Samsung TVs and hotel property management software. Facility managers can customize the in-room entertainment by unlocking rich content from the Samsung Hotel Widget Library and apps for a more interactive guest experience. Some out-of-the-box widgets include familiar apps like Facebook, Twitter, AccuWeather and Google Maps. In addition, guests can enjoy content and experience seamless connectivity between their personal Samsung devices and the big screen using Samsung’s AllShare.

Initial deployments have included hotels throughout the U.S. including Radisson Blu Hotels & Resorts, The Villas of Grand Cypress, Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island and Hotel Zetta San Francisco.
