PCT Screen Tops List of Logic Controls' SB-9090 POS Hardware Features

Logic Controls, a Bematech Company, introduced its new hardware solution SB-9090, an all-in-one point-of-sale device to the U.S. market. The SB-9090 offers Projected Capacitive Touch (PCT) screen technology, simple hardware connectivity, an exchangeable hard drive, hidden cable compartment, an adjustable base, and customer display.

The Logic Controls SB-9090 is designed to resist both internal and external sources that might cause potential computer downtime. With its signature fanless operation the SB-9090 is a great fit for harsh environments where dust, dirt, or grease may be present or when fan noise is not desirable. Logic Controls SB-9090 carries the Intel Atom 1.6GHz Processor that consumes less power while still achieving high performance.

The all metal housing is said to withstand the damage from daily wear and tear. The robust material provides the complete protection for the internal system and ensures efficient heat dissipation. The touch screen display is water-resistant. The SB-9090 provides a full compliment of modern I/O ports including 3 serial, 4 USB 2.0, 1 VGA, 1 Ethernet, 1 PS/2 and etc. It supports Windows 7, Windows POSReady, WEPOS, Windows XP Pro for Embedded, and Fedora (Linux).

The SB-9090 can be configured with a 3-track magnetic stripe reader that accepts credit, debit, gift, and staff cards. An optional 2 x 20 customer facing VFD display can also be integrated into the system. By incorporating the fingerprint reader into SB-9090, the system security is enhanced and employee identity is protected. Aside from these most requested options, customers will also easily build a single source hardware solution by adding the Logic Controls thermal printer and cash drawer.

User-driven innovations

  • PCT Touch Screen (optional): In addition to the standard 5-wire resistive touch panel, Logic Controls brings in the option of Projected Capacitive Touch (PCT) screen. This newly developed technology not only permits more accurate operation, but also eliminates the calibrating process. Even with an extra coated protection layer, the operation could still perform precisely without direct contact.
  • Multi-touch function: The multi-touch function eliminates the need for an external keyboard, mouse, and etc. This user friendly design presents a next level of accessibility and usability to every All-in-One system.
  • Adjustable base and customer display: Customers can manage a customized viewing angle that best fits to the operating environment. These features would help Logic Controls' users to adjust the touch screen and the customer display based on the structural design of their front counters.
  • Simple hardware connectivity: Logic Controls SB-9090 comes with a detachable connector cover. Unlike the traditional design, this slide-in/out cover creates easy hardware integration for users or system
  • Exchangeable HDD: With no hassle, users can exchange the hard drive by removing the attached screws. This design allows business owners and operators to perform basic system maintenance. Further, the use of an isolated compartment keeps the hard drive away from the main heat source generated by the mother board.
