LG Shows Full HD Product Line at HITEC 2008

The leading supplier of stylish flat-panel displays to the U.S. lodging and hospitality industry, LG Electronics launches its connectivity solutions featuring MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 compatible LCD and plasma HDTVs; Pro:Idiom digital rights management (DRM) systems to provide the secure, rapid and broad deployment of HDTV and other high-value digital content; Remote Jack Packs; and digital signage to enhance the guest experience.

Free-to-guest card delivers secure high-definition content
The new LG free-to-guest card (model HCS1410) used in conjunction with a Pro:Idiom-compatible flat panel television with an MPI(TM) card slot, offers hoteliers a solution for the decryption of secure content, which allows guests to view premium HDTV programming.

With the HCS1410, integrators can download application software to easily configure channel settings. This software provides a way to map logical channel numbers to physical or virtual channel settings.

The HCS1410 is ideal for static channel lineups in hotel lobbies and public viewing areas as well as guest rooms. The card also allows for ease of set replacement, as it can easily be removed and placed into a new set when hotels choose to upgrade to new TV models.

Flat panels for in-room entertainment
Incorporating advanced technologies and distinctive design, the PG20 line of plasma televisions (42-inch and 50-inch class) features a slim depth of 3.4 inches; LG's Invisible Speaker System; and high-gloss black finish, making them a perfect addition to hotel rooms and suites. This series is ENERGY STAR(R) rated and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive) compliant.

The PG20 series is loaded with advanced technology and user-friendly features, such as a 30,000:1 contrast ratio allowing for deeper blacks. Integrated with LG's HCS5610 digital interface box, the plasma HDTVs offer DTV tuning and Pro:Idiom DRM. Other features include:
-- Public Display Settings -- cloning capable with TV Link-Loader
-- Dual XD Engine(R)
-- 1,500 cd/m2 brightness
-- 100,000-hour panel (typical -- approximately 30 years)
-- Three HDMI 1.3 with Deep Color
-- Four Power-Saving Levels
-- 2-year limited warranty

Remote jack packs provide multi-tasking capabilities
LG's innovative Auto-Sensing Remote Jack Packs (RJPs) are a key component of the complete, integrated solution. With LG's RJP solution, cable clutter is eliminated, and guests can access multiple devices such as laptop PCs, portable DVD and CD players, and digital music players through the LG HDTV in their room.
The RJP-201B, LG's newest model, offers an innovative vertical wall mount/desk backsplash design and A/V inputs for external portable devices. Hotel operators can choose from six stylish RJP designs (RJP-101M, RJP-110S, RJP-120G, RJP-110FW and RJP-110WBR). LG's RJPs are available in various configurations for hoteliers' needs, including wall-mount, desk back splash, drawer-mount and desk-top-mount configurations. Features include:
-- Auto-sensing capability -- automatically senses the device most
recently plugged into the panel and switches the display to that
-- Picture-Over-Picture (POP) capabilities -- allow both the display from
a computer screen and TV screen to be displayed simultaneously (when
used with TVs that have this feature)
-- Separation of audio and video -- allows guests to listen to music from
one source while watching video content from another

Hotel Digital Signage
Completing the full line of products for the lodging and hospitality industry are LG Electronics' digital signage screens for hotel common areas. LG's 42-inch class screen (model M4210C) can deliver hotel information to guests in public areas such as lobbies, meeting rooms, and workout facilities. These models are compatible with IP-Cast(TM), Internet Protocol (IP) technology, which makes it possible for hotels to deliver content to multiple screens from a centralized operations center. The combination of advanced technology, HD displays, and networking technology from LG allows the hotel and restaurant operators to use digital signage and attention-grabbing content to communicate with guests in creative ways.

The M4210N, capable of portrait (vertical) or landscape (horizontal) orientation, features a built-in controller, a narrow 29 mm bezel and "Super IPS" viewing angle of 178 degrees. These enhancements in viewing angle and long-term performance in portrait mode further address the hotel industry's need for maximizing space, flexibility and customization. With the built-in controller, once the operating system is added the content can be quickly uploaded and run without the need for an outside media player. The M4210N also features built-in wired and wireless LAN for easy network access.
LG is also demonstrating its Touch Screen models, M3201T and M4210T, which allow for easy check-in and way-finding services from a hotel's registration desk. The touch screens incorporate Super IPS 178 degree viewing angles and 1366 x768 (WXGA) display resolution.
