HITEC: Panasonic Announces New LRU30 Series of High-Performance LCD HDTVS

6/23/2011
Panasonic Solutions Company, provider of collaboration, information-sharing and decision-support solutions for commercial enterprises and government, announced three new LCD HDTV models developed for the hospitality industry at HITEC in Austin, TX. Successors to the company’s hospitality market-dominant LRU20 Series, the new TH-42LRU30, TH-37LRU30 and TH-32LRU30 feature exceptional image quality, low maintenance and manageability that will appeal to guests, system integrators and IT staff, as well as the CFO.

Distinguished by integrated TV solutions, easy installation, easy-to-view screens and SD Memory Card slots, the LRU30 Series—the 1080p TH-42LRU30 and TH-37LRU30, and the 720p TH-32LRU30—delivers superior performance in hospitality environments ranging from in-room settings to hotel lobbies, bars and restaurants.

Image Quality and Guest Experience
The In-Plane Switching (IPS) panel features a wide viewing angle of 178 degrees, guaranteeing that guests enjoy clear images from virtually anywhere in the room. The 37 and 42-inch displays feature Full HD LCD panels with approximately twice as many pixels as conventional panels and Panasonic’s exclusive Fine Black Panel achieves stunning images with deep, rich blacks. The Intelligent Scene Controller produces crisp images with high contrast ratios.

The LRU 30 Series displays are lightweight, with built-in bottom speakers and a stylish matte black bezel that blends in with any setting. The displays are equipped with a security-mount pedestal stand that rotates up to 90 degrees in both directions. They can also be set for asymmetrical left and right swivel angles.

Guests will appreciate the displays’ SD card slot for large-screen viewing of digital camera images stored on SD Memory Cards with a slideshow feature.

Integrated TV Solutions
The LRU30 Series features a built-in digital tuner supporting MPEG4 and Pro:Idiom decryption and is compatible with most Pay-Per-View and Free-to-Guest systems. The RS232C port supports various guest connectivity solutions as well as external control systems such as AMX, Creston and Control4.

The displays come standard with integrated LodgeNet b-LAN technology. This significantly lowers implementation costs for LodgeNet PPV since no external hardware is required, and it also provides reliable and robust communication with the optional FMA-PA101 server for FTG installs.

Efficient Installation and Easy Management
System Integrators will enjoy faster set-up times thanks to features that make installation and maintenance easy. Large hotels will often purchase the optional FMA-PA101 Free-to-Guest Management Appliance (FMA) server, allowing the hoteliers and their system integrators to map and manage Pro:Idiom channels for all displays from a central location. However, smaller hotels may now choose the option of locally authenticating Pro:Idiom channels with an inexpensive SD card as part of the TV cloning process.

Another feature of the LRU30 Series displays is a customizable welcome screen. Now hoteliers can install any custom JPEG they create to greet their guests on TV power-up with a selectable on screen time.

The displays are equipped with an enhanced “Hotel Mode” that enables a lock on initial and maximum volume as well as other settings. All these integrated solutions deliver more efficiency to the venue and more content to the guests.

The LRU30 Series is Energy Star 4.2/5.3 TV compliant. The low energy consumption greatly reduces environmental impact, while delivering energy cost savings to the hotelier.

The TH-42LRU30, TH-37LRU30 and TH-32LRU30 will be available in July.
