Barry Bagels Follows-up Successful Online Ordering Initiative with iPhone App Launch
Barry Bagels, a five-unit sandwich, salad and soup company based in Toledo, Ohio has launched its own iPhone through a partnership with ONOSYS, a provider of online and mobile ordering technologies for the restaurant industry.
Barry Bagels president Mark Greenblatt says the company, started by his father, Barry, in 1972, has become a northern Ohio mainstay and he welcomed the opportunity to grow his online business even more. After the successful implementation of the ONOSYS online ordering channel three years ago, Greenblatt believed it was time to take the next step by adding the ONOSYS iPhone app.
"Our new iPhone app allows people to order from us immediately, even when they're not in front of a computer," says Greenblatt. After a two-month test, the app was formally launched in December. "It's great to have a Web site customers can order from, but a feature like this puts our business in front of a much broader group that's on the move."
ONOSYS iPhone online ordering apps are customizable for every restaurant and allow customers to use an iPhone or iPod touch to order at their convenience. Using the iPhone app, customers can find restaurant locations via the phone GPS and get directions with one touch. Favorite and past orders can be placed in just seconds and is synchronized immediately with the guest's online profile. This allows complete functionality of the program to be in the hands of the consumer, including past orders, favorites and specials.
