Of 15 Companies that 'Might Not Survive,' 6 are in Hospitality
U.S. News & World Report's chief business correspondent Rick Newman posted a blog on Friday, February 6, 2009 identifying 15 companies that "might not survive 2009." The companies, according to Newman, have many common threads that often are a precursor to bankruptcy: low cash flow, large amounts of dept, and high interest payments due in the year ahead. Of the 15 potential victims, six are in the hospitality and leisure segment, including Sbarro, Station Casino, and Krispy Kreme, among others.
