Speakap Launches ‘Do Not Disturb’ Feature
Did you know two-fifths of workers check their emails outside of work hours at least five times daily? This inability to switch off, coupled with the always-on functionality of mobile devices, can lead to high levels of stress, anxiety and even fractured personal relationships.
And if your company is in a country that has introduced, or plans to introduce, 'right to disconnect' and 'anti-stress' laws, the ability to turn off after working hours is critical in complying with such legislation. New York City Council proposed the ‘right to disconnect’ bill in 2018, which states that it would be unlawful for companies with more than 10 employees to require employees to respond to emails during non-work hours. With fines running at least $250 per violation, the consequence of non-compliance is simply too costly.
Speakap, the internal communications platform designed to reach, connect and engage frontline employees, has launched its Do Not Disturb feature as a real-world solution to these issues . Its open API even makes it possible to integrate Speakap with an existing workforce management tools to turn on the Do Not Disturb feature for employees and, in turn, comply with such laws. With the click of a button, employees will be able to schedule regular periods of Do Not Disturb, as well as turn on the feature during one-time events such as personal milestones or unexpected emergencies. The feature is now available to all Speakap users.
