pcAmerica's Restaurant Pro Express Goes Mobile

pcAmerica, a developer of retail, restaurant and fuel point-of-sale (POS) software, has added a new mobile point of sale solution, Restaurant Pro Express Mobile, to its product lineup. Restaurant Pro Express Mobile offers restaurant owners the primary functionality of a stationary POS terminal on an Apple iPod touch or iPhone.

 

Servers have the ability to take orders tableside, split checks and securely process credit card payments through an attached encrypted credit card reader. Wait staff may print receipts with Epson’s Mobilink wireless mobile printer, which offers quick thermal receipt printing and a battery life of up to 20 hours. Alternatively, wait staff can offer diners a paperless receipt option, where receipts are sent to the customer via e-mail. The mobile ordering system also supports various taxation rules, discounts and happy hour pricing.

 

Restaurant Pro Express Mobile works in conjunction with traditional pcAmerica POS terminals and synchronizes guest checks and menus in real time, so servers can place orders tableside but also view their open tabs and make changes at the POS station.

 

pcAmerica will showcase Restaurant Pro Express Mobile at booth #813 at the RSPA RetailNOW Convention, July 26-29 in Orlando, Florida. The convention is an annual conference held for POS resellers and ISV’s to demonstrate new business trends, showcase upcoming technologies, and share best business practices.

 

Restaurant Pro Express Mobile will be available by the end of the summer. It will also be available for Google Android devices in future releases.
