Orange County Country Club Finds that Members Who Ignore Emails Will Respond to Text Messages
Aliso Viejo Country Club, Orange County's newest private club, shares with its membership a passion for golf and a well-lived life that is enriched by time spent with family and friends. Being brand new allows the club to build its own traditions and create a club for its members, built by their desires and dreams for the future.
Besides having breathtaking views and numerous amenities for fitness and fun, Aliso Viejo Country Club aims to deliver a personalized experience for each member. It wanted to improve communication with current and potential members by providing an alternative channel and chose text messaging as it is fast and convenient for both members and their staff. In particular, Aliso Viejo Country Club wanted to use text messaging to inform existing members of events, customer service, promotions as well as a tool for gaining new members.
After careful consideration, Aliso Viejo Country Club selected Zingle as its partner for member text message communication. The experience, ease of use and the automation capabilities of Zingle contributed to its decision as several Club Corp locations were already using Zingle for texting with members.
“We use Zingle to communicate with members in a variety of ways,” said Nicole Hensley, Membership Director at Aliso Viejo Country Club. “From customer service, announcements and notifications, to event RSVPs and promotions, almost every aspect of the membership experience included text messaging.”
By utilizing Zingle, the staff at Aliso Viejo Country Club can better manage member communication and create an alternate channel for members that usually ignore phone calls or emails. They promoted the text message capabilities to their members through business cards as well as via an initial welcome text message for new members to let them know they can text message the club for anything they need.
By using Zingle’s texting software, Aliso Viejo Country Club staff received quicker responses from members as well as increased event RSVPs. They have also seen a boost in responses from prospective members that have ignored emails in the past.
Due to the overall positive feedback from both members and staff, Aliso Viejo Country Club is looking to increase the usage of Zingle to other member categories including fitness and social in addition to golf members.
"Our members love the convenience of texting. With Zingle, we are seeing more event RSVPs as well as more engagement with our members that we normally wouldn’t see through other channels," Hensley added.
