Monitoring System Helps Arby's Control Energy Costs and Food Safety
Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. is installing Powerhouse Dynamics’ eMonitor systems in all 860+ corporate-owned stores across the country. The rollout is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013.
The eMonitor controls HVAC and other electrical loads with a user-friendly, and in Arby’s case, enterprise-wide, web interface and mobile apps. It also remotely monitors equipment to diagnose performance issues and identify savings opportunities. More importantly, while the information is being gathered at each company-owned store, the eMonitor makes it simple to benchmark energy and water usage across all facilities regionally and nationally. This allows multi-location companies to identify star performers and share best practices, optimizing performance across the chain.
Arby’s is also taking advantage of the eMonitor’s “Food Safety Scorecard,” a key feature that continuously monitors temperature in relevant refrigeration (and potentially) heated holding equipment. The Scorecard supports a critical chain-wide requirement to monitor product temperatures, in order to identify issues before they become food safety emergencies.
