HT Exclusive: Taco Bell VP Shares Insights on Mobile Ordering, Integrated Commerce Trends
If you missed last Wednesday’s episode of The Point, you missed a lot. HT’s Editor-in-Chief Robert Firpo-Cappiello talked with Taco Bell’s VP of Technology Vadim Parizher about trends in online ordering and integrated commerce and what steps operators should be taking now to future proof their tech stacks.
Taco Bell and its franchise Border Foods was a 2022 MURTEC Breakthrough Award winner for the Taco Bell Defy concept that features a four drive-thru lanes, a connected kitchen and “tacos from the sky.” Parizher’s team worked on the connected architecture that powers the futuristic concept -- an omnichannel experience that is all connected.
Benefits of Digital Ordering
In the restaurant industry post-pandemic, “customer expectations are oriented toward tech,” and it is undeniable that their preferences have shifted, Parizher explained.
Measuring customer satisfaction with digital ordering is a must, Parizher explained. It requires requires operators to rethink how customer satisfaction is measured; It is a different assessment vs. in-person interactions, he explained.
Integration is here to stay. To future-proof your tech stack, make sure you’re not reinventing everything from a tech perspective. Create an integrated environment, he advised.
