Best Western to Enhance In Room Experience with Connectivity Panels

Best Western International, the world’s largest hotel chain, has selected Cables To Go as a supplier of connectivity panels that allow hotel guests to easily connect their personal devices and equipment to the in-room television for multimedia sharing and in-room entertainment. TruLink Media Gateway will be made available to all 4,000 Best Western properties worldwide.

Hotel guests simply connect their personal media device to TruLink Media Gateway, which then automatically detects the port being used, selects the HDMI input on the in-room TV and transmits the content.

TruLink Media Gateway provides plug and play connectivity that allows guests to connect their laptops; portable media devices including iPhones, iPads, iPods and MP3 Players; cameras; DVD or Blu-ray players; gaming consoles or similar equipment and display them on the high-definition TV.

Cell phones and MP3 players can also be charged through the unit’s USB port.  Connection ports include HDMI, VGA, composite video, 3.5mm audio, USB, Ethernet, Apple devices, MP3 players and power receptacles.

Cables To Go is one of only three endorsed suppliers of connectivity panels for Best Western, and the only one to provide customized face plates, reporting of guest usage and multiple versions for in-wall, in-furniture or desktop installations.

Connectivity panels are mandatory for all of 125 Best Western Premier properties worldwide. Best Western is also recommending connectivity panels to hotel managers at its other 4,000 properties, totaling more than 300,000 guest rooms.

In addition to the variety of connectivity and charging ports, TruLink Media Gateway from Cables To Go offers three different models that can be installed in the wall, in furniture or utilized as a desktop accessory, customized face plates to match the dÉcor of different guest rooms, filmware updates via the network, saving significant dollars in costs and hours of time for hotel IT staff each instance an update is required and reporting capabilities to show amount of guest usage and ports being used.
