Wingstop's Digital Media Focus Includes Social Ordering Platforms

Wingstop, Inc. the wing concept with more than 900 locations worldwide, is celebrating National Chicken Wing Day by giving away free wings at all of its participating U.S. restaurants and thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes on Periscope. On Friday, July 29, Wingstop fans will have the opportunity to participate in a first-of-its-kind social auction series on Periscope “THUMP by Wingstop.”
 
Users bid on prizes by tapping the Periscope heart button. The fan who “THUMPS” the most hearts at the end of each auction will win the designated prize. Plus, all Wingstop fans can also celebrate National Chicken Wing Day at any U.S. Wingstop restaurant where they will receive five free wings with any wing purchase between the hours of 11am and 2pm, local time.
 
“We are looking to break new ground on National Chicken Wing Day by running the first-ever social auction on Periscope,” said Flynn Dekker, Chief Marketing Officer of Wingstop. “We were the first company to offer a dynamic social ordering platform on Twitter and Facebook Messenger, and with this auction series on Periscope we are continuing to innovate in the social arena. Through these live auctions, our fans can win great prizes ranging from a year of free wings to premiere concert tickets, a limited-edition Wingstop bike and more. On top of that, everyone will win when we throw in five extra wings with every wing order during lunch on Friday. ” 
 
Prizes for the “THUMP by Wingstop” live auctions on Periscope range from a Beach Cruiser Bike and custom Nike shoes, all the way to a “Choose Your Own VIP Experience” worth up to $1,500 where the winner will receive two $250 concert vouchers and a $1,000 travel voucher to be used towards experiencing any concert they want, in any city they choose.
