UNC Sports Fans Can Use App to Order Concessions, Have them Delivered to Their Seats

College sports fans will be able to place digital orders for their favorite concessions from an app and have them delivered to their seats, thanks to a partnership between point-of-sale (POS) company Appetize and Learfield's Sidearm Sports.

College sports fans will be able to order their favorite concessions from an app and have them delivered to their seats.

As a mutual client of both companies, University of North Carolina has opted to deploy the joint solution. Sidearm provides of collegiate athletic web and mobile solutions to more than 1,100 college campuses nationwide.

Appetize's Mobile Ordering Platform directly integrates into the Sidearm Sports Mobile Application via its API, allowing fans to select their seat, menu items for purchase, and checkout. Appetize sends orders to the closest kitchen display system for delivery or for pickup, and fans receive order updates via text message. Participating colleges can opt in and enable mobile ordering for their athletic departments within their existing Sidearm application.

They also have the option to introduce Appetize's full POS suite that includes fixed POS, self-service kiosks, and handheld tablets across their entire athletic department and campus. Whether deploying the mobile application or entire suite, campuses can monitor and manage their entire operations, develop custom menu offerings, track inventory levels, and run real-time reports through Appetize Connect, the web-based POS management platform.
