Thunder Valley Casino Resort Upgrades to RFID Uniform System
Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, Calif., recently upgraded to InvoTech Systems’ Uniform System that uses RFID technology to manage the uniform inventory for more than 2,000 employees.
InvoTech's Uniform System establishes a perpetual uniform inventory and has reporting capabilities to determine and forecast appropriate uniform purchases. The system tracks uniform inventory without manually sorting and hand-counting. Uniform cleaning costs are entered into InvoTech and reports may be generated to audit laundry expenses to update budgets. The improved processes eliminate losses, reduces purchases and lowers laundry expenses and labor costs.
The RFID technology upgrade automates manual tasks, such as manual scanning of uniforms, that were previously required. Specialized waterproof RFID tags are attached to each uniform piece. The InvoTech Uniform System automatically tracks RFID tagged items when issued to employees and as it is shipped to and received back from the laundry.
“Knowing our uniform inventory is an important investment, we rely on the system to manage our entire uniform inventory and the employees’ assignments. Now, with the upgrade, we can see how the RFID technology can improve our operations,” said Kristina Hunter, manager of internal maintenance and uniforms at Thunder Valley Casino.
The RFID technology allows for multiple uniforms to be processed simultaneously and automatically, and the recordkeeping is also automated. The system integrates with automated uniform conveyors to distribute the uniforms to employees, and to automatically record the uniforms taken by employees.
The InvoTech Uniform System is a paperless system. It includes an electronic signature capture terminal that records employee signatures when uniforms are assigned, eliminating the need to print reports to obtain signatures. In addition, all system reports can be viewed on the screen or generated to PDF files to be easily viewed or shared.
