Resorts See 40% Uptick in Revenue with Tests of F&B Platform
Beachy announced a new capability for food and beverage service. Beachy’s new food and beverage solution integrates with a resort’s existing point-of-sale software to offer a faster, more convenient way to process guests’ orders. Resort staff can create, send and track kitchen and bar orders without ever having to leave the beach or pool.
The food and beverage solution was successfully tested by Beachy’s Florida Panhandle clients over the summer and will now be rolled out to clients nationwide. Resorts participating in the trial reported that their beach- and pool-side consumables revenue increased by up to 40 percent.
The original Beachy app, launched in 2017, introduced a beach chair and umbrella management system that’s rapidly propelled an old-fashioned pen-and-paper cash economy into the digital age. Resorts nationwide have embraced the opportunity to enhance customer service by allowing guests to pre-book assets online, which means no more having to get up early while on vacation to secure the best options.
The benefits for Beachy’s resort partners include:
Increased revenue through improved accountability. (Resorts report revenue growth of up to 33 percent after converting from cash to digital transactions.)
Increased revenue through improved efficiencies. (The app allows resort staff to see in real time what equipment is available and/or not being optimized for maximum earnings.)
Increased revenue through upselling. (36 percent of guests choose for their receipt to be delivered via text message, which can serve as an opt-in for notifications about other resort services.)
Smoother operations and fewer guest complaints.
The ability to easily bring in-house the beach-management services that were previously outsourced.
Beachy was founded by former “beach boys” with extensive industry experience who identified a business problem and then started their own tech company to build a solution. Although still growing in the U.S. market, the company is also now looking at global expansion opportunities because the U.S. is not one of the world’s top 10 beach-destination countries.
The announcement coincides with Beachy being named Tech Innovation of the Year, and Tech Innovator of the Year, by the Vacation Rental Management Association.
