Preferred Hotel Group Chooses Recovery Provider
The Preferred Hotel Group announces that they have selected Terremark Worldwide's Enterprise Cloud platform to meet the disaster recovery needs of its mission-critical applications, including its online reservation system.
The Enterprise Cloud is a new managed platform that gives customers the power to provision computing resources for mission-critical applications in minutes. Instead of buying costly, cumbersome servers, Enterprise Cloud services lets customers control a resource pool of processing, storage and networking and allows companies to deploy server capacity on demand.
"Terremark's Enterprise Cloud provides us the flexibility and control to provision our IT infrastructure to service the real-time needs of our business," says Lindsey Ueberroth, executive vice president, Preferred Hotel Group. "By purchasing a dedicated pool of computing resources and allocating them as needed, we can respond in real-time to situations that may affect our operations."
Terremark's Enterprise Cloud is powered by an enhanced version of Terremark's industry-leading Infinistructure utility computing platform and leverages the company's top-tier data centers and access to massive and diverse network connectivity. At the center of Terremark's Enterprise Cloud is the company's new web portal, an application that allows customers to dynamically provision servers from a pre-allocated pool of dedicated computing resources. Servers can be configured and provisioned in minutes, grouped and organized according to role, and dynamically extended according to utilization. A variety of preconfigured server roles are available across Microsoft Windows, Linux and Sun Solaris operating systems. Plug-and-play bandwidth on demand is available from more than 160 global carriers. The portal also provides a full reporting interface that allows instant insight into resource utilization and application performance.
