Mobile payment continues to make the most headlines in the point of sale landscape. With more restaurant companies offering Apple Pay and more vendors adding Apple Pay compatibility, the mobile payment technology made it into several top stories in March. eMobilePOS and Handpoint Team to Provide EMV Compliant Hospitality POS Solutions
e-Nabler Corp., developer of the mobile POS software eMobilePOS has announced a partnership with Handpoint Inc. Through the partnership, merchants get access to a turnkey tablet and handheld-based POS solution that complies with the quickly approaching Oct.15, 2015, EMV deadline. The new EMV standard mandates that U.S. merchants replace magnetic strip readers with chip and PIN readers or the merchant will assume liability for fraudulent purchases.

Fuddruckers Introduces Apple Pay at 72 Company-Owned Locations
Seventy-two Fuddruckers company-owned fast casual restaurants throughout the country are now accepting Apple Pay, a new category of service that transforms mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay.

mPOS Solution for EMV Chip & Sign, Contactless and Mag Stripe Card Acceptance
Ingenico Mobile Solutions has launched a PCI PTS 4.0 and SRED-certified mobile card reader equipped to accept both EMV and magstripe card payments, as well as NFC/contactless payments such as Apple Pay. Designed with flexibility in mind, the Ingenico RP450c can be attached to a mobile device via audio jack, or used as a separate Bluetooth companion or in docking station mode.

The 20th edition of MURTEC (Multi-Unit Restaurant Technology Conference), took place March 17-19 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. One of the sessions focused on the topic, “Consumer Research: How Technology Should, and Shouldn’t, Impact the Dining Experience.” The session was led by Leela Srinivasan, Vice President, Restaurant Marketing, OpenTable Inc. Srinivasan also managed to find time beyond her speaking duties to glean key takeaways from several other MURTEC sessions.
