One of the highlights of MURTEC 2025: Experience Matters was the RTN Ring of Fire competition on Monday, March 10, with five major restaurant solution providers engaging in a dynamic pitch-slam competition — with attendees voting for the winner.

PathSpot’s Winning Solution

PathSpot took the top spot, earning high marks for its SafetySuite, which includes:

  • Refrigeration monitoring to eliminate paperwork, reduce spoilage, and enable proactive maintenance.
  • Checklist management to streamline requirements like reheating, holding, and cooling logs, opening, closing, cleaning lists, and more.
  • Labeling and expiration control to replace illegible handwriting and inaccurate expiry timelines with a system that prints clearly, quickly, and provides analytics.
  • Handwashing hubs to improve the frequency and quality of handwashing with state-of-the-art technology.

PathSpot’s victory is a “full-circle moment” for RTN and for Christine Schindler, Co-Founder & CEO, PathSpot. Back in 2020, the company made waves as the inaugural winner of RTN’s Start-Up Alley competition, introducing its groundbreaking hand-scanning technology designed to bolster food safety and protect both restaurant guests and staff.
