iPads, Loyalty Program Drive Engagement at Victoria Gastro Pub

5/20/2011
Victoria Gastro Pub in Columbia, Maryland, has launched the innovative Beer Club and Cork Club loyalty programs powered by Micros iCare. Victoria also recently launched Micros' mymenu app on Apple iPads, which allows its customers to search its entire "Libations" Menu, a constantly changing inventory of roughly 24 different beers on tap, 250 chilled bottles of beer, and 150 bottles of wine.

The Beer Club and Cork Club loyalty program rewards the adventurous beer and wine connoisseurs, awarding loyalty points based on the number of different items tasted, whereas most other loyalty-based programs bestow reward points simply on quantity of items purchased.  These loyalty-based programs are powered by Micros' iCare software application, which creates a 360 degree view of customer's activities allowing restaurants to recognize and reward their core customers while creating a comprehensive and intelligent marketing program to attract new or less frequent customers.

Victoria also has deployed six roving iPads available to bar and table-dining customers alike, loaded with the MICROS mymenu app. The Micros mymenu app replaces the large, heavy, and lengthy sixty-page printed Libations Book with an easily-searchable, well-organized database of the constantly changing inventory of beer and wine. The app allows one to filter by beer style, wine varietal, country, flavor profile and a myriad of other qualifiers.  In addition, the app provides information on the history of Victoria and its staff, as well as upcoming events such as Beer Dinners, and seamlessly integrates to its Micros POS system.

"Micros iCare has provided a unique technology that enhances our Beer and Cork Clubs," says Randy Marriner, owner of Victoria Gastro Pub. "The Micros partnership was paramount in getting the added functionality we required in iCare to track beer consumption on the unique menu item level."

Randy continues, "I want Victoria to be the predominant educator of libations in the Baltimore/Washington area. Micros mymenu provides us an elegant platform to accomplish this goal and engages our customers with a technology that complements our hospitality without replacing it.  I look forward to implementing more of the features of mymenu, such as table-side self ordering."
