Mobile Application Aids Hilton Biz Travelers with On-the-Go Printing Needs
Hilton Worldwide guests will have the ability to print wirelessly from their BlackBerry smartphones at 1,300 hotels worldwide within the company's portfolio of brands. Hotel guests can use HP ePrint, a mobile printing application to print from a BlackBerry smartphone to any printer in the PrinterOn network of public printers, called PrintSpots. Thirty percent of the PrintSpots are located at hotels within Hilton Worldwide's portfolio, allowing guests around the world to print documents from their BlackBerry smartphones to a printer at their hotel.
"We are always looking for innovative ways to meet our guests' needs, and HP's ePrint application provides them with on-the-go and convenient technology," says Robert Webb, chief information officer, Hilton Worldwide. "Using HP ePrint, guests can quickly print out e-mail, spreadsheets or other documents from their BlackBerry smartphones while waiting for the hotel elevator, and by the time they get downstairs, their copies will be ready for them to pick up."
More than 1,300 hotels in the Hilton Worldwide portfolio of brands have PrintSpots on the PrinterOn network including Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Hotels, Doubletree, Embassy Suites Hotels, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Hotels and Homewood Suites by Hilton. Soon guests will be able to download the HP ePrint application to wirelessly print documents in the following three easy steps. First, users click the application's Print button on their BlackBerry smartphone. Second, they find and choose a PrintSpot location -- similar to a simple web search -- and click to select. Third, users review a description of the printer selected and the document to be printed, and then click Print to send the job to their hotel printer. The document is printed after the guest releases it, using a secure release code.
