Lux Chicago Hotel Property to Offer Interactive HD TV

A new hotel being developed by an affiliate of The Prime Group, Inc in downtown Chicago has signed a contract with Roomlinx, Inc. to provide Interactive HD TV (iTV) and Free-to-Guest TV programming. The installation consists of 638 iTV systems and covers all of the hotel's 610 rooms. The property is scheduled to open in November of 2010.

The Prime Group is transforming the lower 12 floors of a historic Chicago landmark into a 5-star, luxury hotel with high-end retail space. The upper ten floors of the property will continue to be leased to office tenants, which space was fully renovated as part of the overall project. Situated in the heart of Chicago's central business district, this new luxury hotel will cater to sophisticated, executive business travelers.

"We have developed a reputation as one of Chicago's preeminent real estate developers by focusing on a combination of quality, architecture, and innovation, and, in luxury hospitality properties, that includes unique amenities that will meet and exceed our guests' expectations," says Michael W. Reschke, Chairman and CEO of The Prime Group. "The Roomlinx system is a premium product for a premium property. It will provide not only state-of-the-art in-room media, but also web-browsing capability, the convenience of a virtual concierge and a complete business center in each guest room."

With Roomlinx iTV, guests will have access to HD Hollywood movies, high speed Internet, HD specialty content, international and U.S. television programming, music, business tools, concierge services, games and more via the in-room flat screen high definition television.

The Roomlinx system also includes an in-room advertising component that will enable the hotel to promote in-house facilities and amenities, such as online access to the hotel's world class spa and restaurants, to further differentiate their top quality customer service.
