Lenox Hotel Installs Cloud-Connected iTV Platform & Apps

6/9/2011
The Lenox Hotel in Boston is the first hotel in the Northeast United States to install Envision, the LodgeNet Interactive Corporation’s high-definition, interactive TV (iTV) platform.

Under a recently signed five-year agreement, LodgeNet has replaced the Lenox Hotel’s previous iTV system with its latest generation Envision solution. Guests of the 214-room Lenox have access to the new Envision applications available in an easy to navigate, “app store” format. In addition, guests of the Lenox can easily access information about the local area through the Local Guide app, providing information about area restaurants, shopping, bars and clubs with the click of a remote. Guests can also choose from a vast array of entertainment, including the newest Hollywood releases and a large selection of just missed television shows, as well as on demand sports content.

“With a list of commendations that includes Conde Nast, U.S. News & World Report, Travel+Leisure, and a #1 TripAdvisor ranking, it’s critical that the technologies we choose for the Lenox Hotel help us not only maintain the property’s illustrious reputation, but build on it,” says John Malenfant, director of IT for Saunders Hotel Group, which owns and manages the Lenox. “We look forward to LodgeNet’s continuing partnership as we maximize the capabilities of ‘the cloud’ to enhance our bottom line and protect the environment.”

LodgeNet will be demonstrating its Envision platform and apps (along with other TV, broadband and mobile solutions) at the upcoming HITEC show in Austin, Texas. Attendees are invited to visit the LodgeNet booth (#407) at the Austin Convention Center during floor hours, June 21-23.
