Lazeez Shawarma Powers Rapid Growth and Exceptional Customer Experience With Revel Systems

One of the highlights of HT’s recent MURTEC Executive Summit Canada (June 20 & 21 at the Sheraton Centre, Toronto) was an engaging onstage case study spotlighting Lazeez Shawarma, a Toronto-based restaurant chain that has pursued rapid growth — and the technology solutions that can make that growth possible.

Lazeez, specializing in authentic Middle Eastern cuisine since 2013, has partnered with Revel Systems, a flexible, cloud-based POS for multi-unit restaurant operators, to implement Revel’s platform across 61 locations.

Sahib Rana, Co-Founder and CEO at Lazeez Shawarma, said he sought a flexible and scalable solution to support Lazeez’s growth while at the same time delivering an uncompromisingly exceptional guest experience.

Lynne DeVall, Enterprise Account Executive at Revel, noted that Revel offers a scalable cloud-based POS and seamless payments solution, a kitchen display system, and a customer display system. 

A True Partnership

DeVall said, “Lazeez needed enterprise-level software — the ability to see every location from a mobile management standpoint.”

Rana said, “In the past, we had issues with onboarding with other POS vendors; but with Revel, once we got started, it was smooth sailing, installing cloud-based POS at 61 locations.”

DeVall added, “It was important for Revel to be a partner, and really understand Lazeez’s business — how we can help them grow and vice-versa.” 

Revel’s partnership philosophy also allows restaurants to incorporate solutions from leading payments and delivery vendors, giving operators the flexibility to adapt to market shifts and emerging technologies.

Benefits of KDS & CDS

One great example of the Revel-Lazeez partnership was implementing Revel’s Kitchen Display System, which has helped Lazeez be more efficient by eliminating the waste, cost and hassle of paper tickets. The KDS automatically displays orders from all channels as they come into the POS, which is helping Lazeez increase the speed of service while also improving order accuracy.

From a guest perspective, Lazeez has leveraged Revel’s customer display system (CDS) which allows guests to view order information in real-time, ensuring better transaction accuracy. The CDS is also enabling Lazeez to save and store multiple designs to easily put in front of the customer such as recurring promotions and holiday specials.
