Kaba and DORMA Finalize Merger

Kaba announced on September 1, 2015 that its merger with DORMA is finalized. The new company, dorma+kaba Group, with pro forma annual sales of more than CHF 2B ($2.1B) has more than 16,000 staff in 50 countries. Kaba provides the Saflok™ and ILCO™ brands of electronic locks.  
DORMA’s automatic doors and Crane revolving doors are in wide use throughout the hospitality industry, as are its architectural hardware and crash bar door systems. Further, DORMA’s Modernfold movable wall partitions and glass wall systems are ideal for hotel and flexible conference centers.
Customers and partners of Kaba and DORMA will profit from a complementary product portfolio, geographical presence, value chain, and global service organization. The new company will provide a leading product and service offering from a single source, the dorma+kaba Group.
All Kaba RFID door locks shipped today are mobile-access iOS and Android compatible to give operators a flexible choice of guest entry options. Kaba mobile locks use a cloud-based mobile access system and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) to deliver a seamless, reliable, and highly secure guest experience. The flexibility of Kaba's mobile access solutions ensure that properties can meet travelers' emerging demand for greater mobile compatibility. Guests can check-in online with their mobile device, and use it during their stay as their very own mobile room key.
