iTesso Enhances Data Security With Tokenization and Point-to-Point Encryption
iTesso has announced a new interface between the iTesso Enterprise Lodging System and Merchant Link, a leading provider of payment gateway and data security solutions. By teaming with Merchant Link, the iTesso solution is not subject to Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements, but actually exceeds the standard by completely eliminating the storage of cardholder data in the iTesso database.
With the new interface, Merchant Link's secure Payment Gateway™, TransactionVault® and TransactionShield® products deliver robust point-to-point encryption and strong tokenization. By deploying encrypting devices on premise, credit card information is first sent to Merchant Link for tokenization. The token is then sent to iTesso, where it is saved on the reservation. This way, hotels using the iTesso Enterprise Lodging System never see sensitive credit card data in their user interface or database.
