Inspire Brands' Lisa Acero was presented with the Top Women in Restaurant Technology – Innovator Award at MURTEC in Las Vegas.
Last year Acero, led the team that replaced a 10 year-old POS/BOH system at more than 7,700 Dunkin’ locations. Dunkin' is part of the Inspire Brands family of restaurants. “Despite the challenges of pandemic, labor disruptions, and supply chain delays, the project hit our timelines and goals,” said Acero.
From a tech perspective, the new system opens up many possibilities -- including self-ordering kiosks, line-busting tablets, improving the drive-thru experience and more.
Enabling self-service options is a key business driver impacting POS upgrades decisions in 2022, according to HT's 2022 POS Software Trends report
“Being recognized gives me a great sense of pride and accomplishment. I'd like to emphasize that the successful deployment these innovative technologies at Inspire was made possible by the hard work and commitment of the entire team.”
Acero, who was recently promoted to Director of IT Deployment Services for Inspire Brands, has spent her entire career working in retail and restaurant systems. “I enjoy solving the challenges of deploying new and innovative technologies in large-scale environments,” she says.
When it comes to the future of restaurant technology, Acero says she’s looking forward to additional improvements in online ordering, delivery, contactless payment in the drive-thru, loyalty programs, and ghost kitchen concepts.
“Looking towards the future, I can see an increased use of predictive analytics and artificial intelligence. This will likely mean utilizing voice ordering and smart sell in the drive-thru,” she says.
Acero was was one of 10 women recognized in HT’s sixth annual Top Women in Restaurant Technology Awards, sponsored by Tillster, the global leader in powering online ordering and delivery solutions for restaurant brands.
HT will profile each of the winners in the coming weeks and in the summer issue of Hospitality Technology.
