HT to Honor 2018 MURTEC Breakthrough Award Winners at MURTEC Executive Summit

The nomination period has closed for the 2018 MURTEC Breakthrough Awards and Hospitality Technology (HT) magazine’s editors and Advisory Board are busily judging the impressive submissions from a myriad of restaurant companies. Now in its 13th year, the MURTEC Breakthrough Awards, sponsored by NovaDine, honor foodservice companies for outstanding achievement in business innovation. The awards are presented to operators – at the MURTEC Executive Summit – for leveraging groundbreaking technology and innovative strategies to improve customer engagement and/or the overall enterprise. The awards’ sponsor, NovaDine, is an enterprise-class digital and mobile ordering solution provider to the restaurant industry.

“Technological innovation has always been a central component of the Breakthrough Awards,” Dorothy Creamer, editor of Hospitality Technology magazine, explains. “This year’s MURTEC Executive Summit with the tagline, ‘Technology Storytellers,’ we’re emphasizing how forward-looking restaurant companies are increasingly using technology to build an ongoing dialogue with guests and staff inside and outside of the physical restaurant. Companies that do so are better positioned for future growth as the world changes and customer and employee expectations shift.”

Winning companies are chosen based on vision and execution; consideration is given to size, resources and individual market segment benchmarks to ensure that companies from across the industry are recognized. Last year, HT awarded three Breakthrough Awards: P.F. Chang's (Customer Engagement Innovator), The ONE Group, LLC (Enterprise Innovator) and Twin Peaks Restaurants (Enterprise Innovator).

P.F. Chang’s was honored for its development of a digital engagement platform that allowed the brand to simultaneously acquire new guests, drive awareness of the brand and improve sales performance. The ONE Group, LLC won for its deployment of an EMV solution that reduced chargebacks by $500,000 per year without any negative impact on customers or wait staff. Twin Peaks Restaurants was recognized for its success in increasing purchase price allocation (PPA) at the individual, store, and brand levels and for finding a better way to measure team member performance and engage with staff. The MURTEC Executive Summit offers a low pressure environment for building relationships with potential partners. The Summit is an intimate gathering of senior-level executives, unique from other technology events in the industry. The format and content is designed to draw in technology thought leaders and influencers in a program that prioritizes group discussions, two-way dialogue, and collaboration amongst both peers and sponsors. The 2018 MURTEC Executive Summit will take place October 17-19, 2018 in Nashville, Tenn.
