Hampshire Hotels & Resorts Reinvent Guest In-Room Experience
Hampshire Hotels & Resorts select Alcatel-Lucent's IP Communications Solution to reinvent their guest experience. The new communications network leverages a wide range of Alcatel-Lucent technologies including IP telephony, WiFi, LAN switching, contact centers, and data security.
Based on this solution, guests will enjoy a multitude of features including bedside video phone intercoms that will let guests see who is at the door. Additionally, interactive in-room LCD displays will allow them to view a menu of hotel services, including room service, and place orders through a phone call or digital interaction. Thanks to Internet protocol television, guest will have unprecedented access to a world of entertainment options that can be downloaded to the in-room flat panel television or to the viewer's laptop. The Skype-ready keyboard-enabled in-room phones have Bluetooth handsets.
"The Alcatel-Lucent IP solution lets us offer our guests the highest level communications experience. Leveraging the full breadth of the Alcatel-Lucent portfolio, and open standards based technology, we will be able to deliver futuristic services today while staying ahead of the curve for tomorrow's innovative communications enhancements," said Riyaz Akhtar, executive vice president for development at Hampshire Hotels & Resorts. "Additionally, the new IP-based network, will provide Hampshire Hotels with distinctive benefits in all aspects of voice, data, video/entertainment, security, and services resulting in fundamental market differentiation."
The wireless network and automated notification system provide hotel operations with geo-location capabilities to best select the most appropriate employee to handle on-the-spot guest requests. Centralized systems management and complete control of telecommunications will provide consolidated reservations, sales and marketing, accounting and technology services through a seamless interface to remote property management systems. Additional application programming interfaces (APIs) will integrate energy management systems for automated lighting and temperature control. Using leased dark fiber, Hampshire will link existing facilities, creating network redundancies that ensure high service levels and provide opportunity to expand to global locations.
