First Data Arms Operators with New Contactless Payment Solution
First Data is arming operators with the ability to accept contactless payments with the introduction of the FD-30 PIN pad. One of the only devices available that supports cardholder-initiated, contactless, PIN-based debit and traditional magnetic stripe transactions, the First Data FD-30 allows operators to offer their customers the choice, convenience and security to initiate and complete their transaction, while maintaining control of their card during the entire process.
The device is able to accept PIN-secured and signature debit cards, credit cards (including Visa, MasterCard Diners Club®, Discover® Network and JCB®), electronic benefits transfer, gift cards and a wide range of contactless cards, key fobs and mobile payment supported devices.
The FD-30 connects to the First Data proprietary terminal line and many First Data certified terminals by a USB or RS232 port. It does not require a separate power supply, and is upgradable to accept new payment types and enhancements as they become available.
