Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Launches New Website
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit said it launched its latest phase of technology development with the new website: www.smokedonsite.com. This new companion website serves to communicate Dickey’s passion for the art of barbecue. It also tells the story of the dedicated Pit Masters who own and operate local Dickey’s stores and serve their communities every day. This website is the culmination of Dickey’s passion and culture over the past 76 years, focusing on the barbecue pit, the essence of every Dickey’s location. The pit is what sets Dickey’s apart as authentic, artisanal barbecue.
‘Smoked On-site’ is Dickey’s guidepost statement for all brand initiatives. On the new website, that guidepost is explained in three segments: the pit, the people and the practices. Dickey’s has a barbecue pit in every location, which smokes meat low and slow every night using hickory wood. This hands-on, artisanal technique would be impossible to achieve nationwide without the people who partner with Dickey’s as franchisees. Each franchisee spends four weeks training to become a certified Pit Master before opening a new location.
The new website is only one piece of Dickey’s newest technological innovations. Recently the barbecue brand also launched its own online ordering platform, which offers a more streamlined and user-friendly way for guests to order their barbecue. Dickey’s will also unveil a new app in the second quarter which will offer a seamless mobile experience.
“We believe authentic, pit-smoked barbecue is possible only with great people and passion for the art form,” says Dickey’s CEO Laura Rea Dickey. “We launched Smokedonsite.com to tell that story of barbecue artisans throughout our 76 years.”
