Chipotle's iPhone App Popularity Proves Strong: Hits Milestone of 500,000 Downloads

Chipotle's customers can say goodbye to waiting in line using an application developed by Pervasent, a leading provider of iPhone solutions. With just a few taps on their phone, hungry customers can find the nearest Chipotle location, select from a full menu of gourmet options, pay for their order and choose a pickup time. Favorite orders can be saved, making it a snap to order "the usual" anytime.

When the Chipotle application was launched this summer, it quickly rose to the top 20 of iPhone app downloads and became one of the highest rated applications (4.85 out of 5 stars) of the top 50 apps. Since its release, the application has been downloaded by over half million customers and Chipotle has seen a spike in online orders.

The app was a true team effort with Pervasent, Chipotle's IT group and San Francisco-based Sequence, a leading strategy and design agency. For Pervasent and Sequence, the challenge was turning a complex ordering process with thousands of possible combinations into an intuitive and fun activity.

At the same time, the application needed to incorporate enterprise-class security for payment processing, integration with the point of sale system and ensure that orders are sent to the right restaurant at the right time.
