Centrally-hosted POS is 'Music' to Starbucks' & Aramark Higher Ed.'s Ears

Starbucks and ARAMARK Higher Education are the latest customers to select MICROS Simphony. Starbucks completed deployment of MICROS Simphony to more than 6,700 sites in the U.S. and will follow with sites in Canada and the United Kingdom. ARAMARK Higher Education provides professional services in dining, facility, conference center, and stadium and arena operations for more than 600 colleges and universities throughout North America. MICROS Simphony has been deployed to more than 80 sites in North America, utilizing 475 MICROS WS5 terminals primarily in campus dining including cafeterias and food courts.
 
MICROS Simphony features a service oriented architecture (SOA). The centrally-hosted MICROS Simphony provided Starbucks and ARAMARK Higher Education an easy way to deploy the system using a design that provides flexibility, resiliency and streamlined integration of applications. MICROS Simphony also offers real-time data, improved guest service, and a lower total cost of ownership and operation.
 
The massive U.S. deployment to Starbucks was substantially completed within 90 days, with 150 sites centrally activated with MICROS Simphony each business night.
