Fuel, a provider of guest-facing software for the global hospitality industry, has been selected by Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) to manage its online inventory for the club’s 22 lodging locations with the Fuel Booking Engine.
In order to securely process direct online reservations through AMC’s website, Fuel will build a multi-location booking feature for the national organization. The Fuel Booking Engine is an easy-to-use reservation platform that provides guests with the most integrated and mobile-friendly experience available on the market. Embedding seamlessly into the existing website and integrating directly with the lodges’ Property Management System (PMS) to pull real-time data, the new functionality will give AMC a fully-integrated system – diminishing its reliance on online travel agencies and converting more direct bookings.
Founded in 1876, AMC promotes the protection, enjoyment and understanding of the mountains, forests, waters and trails of America’s Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Offering lodges, huts, cabins and campsites at over 22 different locations, AMC’s goal is to help people get outdoors on their own or with family and friends, and through activities close to home and beyond. With chapters ranging from Maine to Washington, D.C., and including groups in Boston, New York City and Delaware Valley, the organization helps people enjoy activities like hiking, paddling, cycling and skiing, along with learning new outdoor skills.
“We are thrilled that Appalachian Mountain Club has selected our booking engine software to manage the online inventory for its multiple lodging locations,” said Stuart Butler, chief operating officer of Fuel. “ The Fuel Booking Engine offers an intuitive user-interface that is constantly being tested and optimized for conversions, ensuring that the guest experience is as streamlined as possible. We look forward to optimizing the online booking engine with Appalachian Mountain Club’s website making the traveler buying process seamless and in turn, increasing the number of direct bookings through the organization's website.”
