App Downloads Exceed 100 Billion Annually

2/26/2014
Keynote has announced Keynote Mobile App Monitoring, the first 100% cloud solution to monitor the performance of mobile apps without the need to add or modify any software.

In an increasingly mobile-first world, Gartner reported that Mobile app stores will see annual downloads reach 268 billion in 2017, with total revenue of $77 billion, growing at 27% annually from 2012 and 2017. In-app purchases will account for almost half of the total revenue in 2017. Yet Gartner also estimates only 5% of IT Operations teams currently monitor the performance of mobile apps.

Keynote Mobile App Monitoring addresses this critical blind spot, which currently leaves mobile technology teams with no visibility into performance after their apps have been downloaded. Keynote Mobile App Monitoring alerts teams to issues related to availability and responsiveness, and offers insight into root causes, isolating bottlenecks to specific services and APIs, including third parties. In conjunction with its existing web and mobile web monitoring solutions, Keynote now provides a unified view across all digital delivery channels in one management dashboard.

Keynote Mobile App Monitoring is the only on-demand solution that does not require any modification of the app being monitored. It is also the only solution to provide active and continuous visibility into mobile app performance, using real devices and delivered as an easy-to-set-up cloud solution. Other solutions require IT Ops teams to either compile software into the app or “wrap” it in some software. Keynote Mobile App Monitoring frees IT Ops teams from having to manipulate code before monitoring, allowing for rapid deployment.

Using live wireless carrier connections around the globe, Keynote Mobile App Monitoring provides the most accurate insight into end-user experience for mobile apps.  Keynote Mobile App Monitoring integrates across all of Keynote’s monitoring services to deliver a complete view into end-user experiences from a single cloud console, across key touch points including apps and Web, smartphones, tablets and desktops, and both inside and outside firewalls.
