Yum Brands Franchisee Taps Precidia for Secure, POS-Integrated Credit & Debit Processing for 85+ QSRs
Luihn Food Systems, a franchisee of Yum Brands Inc. with over 85 quick service restaurants, has selected Precidia's TransNet payment engine to integrate credit and debit card processing with PAR Exalt POS systems. This solution allows Luihn's restaurants to easily route debit and credit card transactions to any processor using existing systems, with full security, and a suite of management tools that help prevent theft and fraud.
With 85 locations in the Southeastern U.S., Luihn Food Systems operates restaurants with several popular QSR brands, including KFC, A&W, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and Long John Silver's. The company turned to Precidia for a payment solution that would integrate easily with their PAR Exalt POS system. Though the existing system performs reliably, it does not offer fully integrated debit and credit payments. In order to accept card payments, a stand-alone payment terminal is required, bringing extra equipment at the POS, training on multiple devices, and inefficient double entry. By deploying the TransNet payment engine software, PAR Exalt users like Luihn Food Systems can achieve fully integrated payments. Housed on the POSLynx220 payment router, the TransNet solution routes transactions via broadband IP to any certified processor. Transaction logs and statistics can be viewed by the restaurant operator from a standard web browser using MerchantVu, assisting with settlement and other administrative tasks.
TransNet offers a comprehensive approach to security and theft prevention. The NetVu management server features settings designed to prevent fraud and theft, including near real-time alerts for purchases and refunds over a certain dollar amount. To address cardholder data security, this PCI PA-DSS validated solution offers field-tested firewalling, SSL encryption and settings designed to assist merchants in achieving and maintaining PCI DSS compliance. The solution also boasts unparalleled reliability and flexibility, with automatic dial back-up, and the ability to route to multiple processors simultaneously
"Managing risk at multiple high-volume restaurant locations can be challenging for IT staff," says Lauren Bain, director of information technology for Luihn Food Systems. "It was important to be able to monitor and manage transactions from a remote location, to prevent theft or fraud. With the MerchantVu store level management suite, we can now view transaction activity at each of our locations by lane or by date. We can also leverage NetVu to block certain card numbers or receive alerts of abnormal transaction activity."
