11/12/2014
Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) has opted to maintain its momentum by retaining 22-year HFTP veteran Frank I. Wolfe, CAE at the helm of the association’s management. He will remain as the association’s chief executive officer through May 2018, a position he’s held since 1994. The HFTP Global Board of Directors has tasked Wolfe with broadening his role as the association’s ambassador, demonstrating the organizations’ resources and educational opportunities for hospitality finance and technology, and how it supports the hospitality industry at large.

“Frank’s contributions to both HFTP and the hospitality industry cannot be quantified,” said Daniel N. Conti, Jr., CAM, CHAE, HFTP Global President. “He is the backbone of our association and we are happy that we have been able to renew his contract with HFTP.”

During Wolfe's tenure, the association has experienced tremendous growth in its educational programs, membership and certification programs. His diligent leadership contributed to the expansion of the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®), the development of the Global Hospitality Accounting Common Practices (GHACP), and the recent opening of the HFTP Asia Research Center at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  Wolfe has been crucial to the association’s worldwide expansion by spearheading collaborations with allied partners, including: Ecole hÔteliÈre de Lausanne (EHL) in Switzerland, Auro University in India, the Hong Kong Hotel Accountants and Controllers Association (HCAA), the Shanghai Controllers Association, and the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI).

As the spokesperson for HFTP, Wolfe frequently speaks on hospitality finance, technology, social media and travel issues to varied audiences and has presented in more than 20 countries. He is also a regular columnist for Hotel Management magazine. He has been featured in association, conference and industry publications including Convene Magazine, Association Management Magazine, MeetingTech Online and Hospitality Upgrade Magazine. He has appeared on several television network interviews and programs including CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, TVAsia and Bloomberg.

“Part of HFTP’s strategic plan is to be recognized as the essential source on finance and technology for the hospitality industry,” said Conti. “Frank has been a great ambassador for the association and has raised our level of recognition through his global efforts on our behalf.”

Wolfe was honored as the first-ever Champion of IT Education Award during the annual International Hospitality Information Technology Association (iHITA) Research Conference in June 2013 and in June 2011, was inducted into the International Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame for his stewardship to the industry and his leadership with various hospitality technology projects over the past 20 years. In June 2010 he was recognized as a "Technology Trailblazer" by Hotel Business Magazine and in October 2010 was featured by Boardroom Magazine in an exclusive cover story interview. He also received the HFTP Paragon Award in 2002.

He is a graduate of East Tennessee State University where he received a degree in Health Administration and later attended graduate school there in the Counseling and Guidance Program. In 1992, he was awarded the Certified Association Executive designation (CAE), which is the association industry's highest designation.

Wolfe lends his expertise to similar organizations by serving on boards and past boards such as the International Hotel and Restaurant Association (IHRA), the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA), the Texas Society of Association Executives (TSAE) and the Dean’s Advisory Council Conrad Hilton College University of Houston. He is also a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
