Verifone, Eigen Payments Announce Partnership

5/23/2017
In today’s EMV world, full-service restaurants are looking to technology to improve the customer experience while complying with complex security standards. To help one restaurant chain meet these challenges, Verifone, a provider of payments and commerce solutions, and Eigen Development Ltd., a provider of PCI-validated point-to-point encryption (P2PE) managed payment solutions, have partnered to enable The Keg Steakhouse + Bar  to offer secure pay-at-the-table service.

Verifone is supporting Eigen with the VX 690 payment terminal, software development kit, and the developer environment needed for the managed payment solution provider to offer a complete EMV and P2PE solution. This integration enables restaurants to provide their customers with three levels of security through the card, the payment terminal, and the encrypted data in the network, in every transaction.

“At all of our North American restaurant locations, we are constantly striving to enhance our guest experience,” said Ron Varley, vice president of IT, The Keg. “Pay-at-the-table enables our servers to complete the bill transaction directly with our guests in an efficient manner, leading to better service.  The addition of a PCI-listed P2PE solution with EMV, ensures credit card data is secure, makes PCI compliance easier, and reduces chargebacks."
