Vantiv Unveils Enhanced eCommerce Data Security Solution
Vantiv, Inc. unveiled Vantiv eProtect, a comprehensive eCommerce data security solution that provides online merchants with end-to-end data protection, by removing sensitive cardholder data from their checkout pages - and throughout their systems, storage, and use.
In alignment with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Version 3.1, eProtect utilizes an iFrame approach that is fully-hosted in Vantiv's secure environment, transferring the risk of capturing and storing cardholder data from merchants to Vantiv.
This approach reduces the scope of a merchant's PCI compliance responsibilities with minimal impact to their systems and operations. To avoid disruption to the consumer's checkout experience, the hosted payment fields are fully-customizable and fit smoothly within a merchant's web page to replicate the existing style and layout of their website.
As part of Vantiv's data security protection suite, Vantiv eProtect utilizes OmniToken - Vantiv's secure tokenization service - that removes cardholder data from a merchant's systems and replaces it with a token that is virtually unusable to attackers attempting to steal that data. OmniToken values are utilized for all post-authorization operations, can be safely stored throughout a merchant's systems, and are of practically of no use to thieves.
Vantiv eProtect features include:
Payment Channel and Platform Neutral - Provides consistent, tokenized values regardless of the payment processing channel or platform, including online, mobile, or in-store.
Interoperability - Integrates seamlessly with all core processing transactions, including authorizations, deposits, sales, refunds, and chargebacks. Tokenized values also work seamlessly with all of Vantiv's eCommerce value-added services, including Recovery (Account Updating, Authorization Recycling), Fraud Toolkit, Fraud Chargeback Prevention Service, Vantiv iQ, and Vantiv Insights.
Format Preservation - Utilizes format-preserving technologies that maintain the same format and length as the original card number it replaces, reducing or eliminating modifications and resulting in less operational friction to existing business operations. Furthermore, format-preserving tokens can maintain the last four digits of the original account number in support of customer card on file.
