Union Jacks Restaurants Selects ConnectSmart
Jamie Oliver’s new high-profile venture, Union Jacks, has announced that it will be using QSR Automations®' high-tech kitchen automation, ConnectSmart® Kitchen. The QSR product is marketed and serviced in the UK by Edgware-based hospitality software and communications specialist Call Systems Technology (CST) .
Union Jacks' first site will open in Holborn in November 2011 and more openings are planned for 2012. The new restaurant is billed as a new and very British concept for the High Street, where “wood-fired flatbreads meet great British flavours.”
Simon Blagden, managing director of Union Jacks, said that the QSR system continues to bring very clear advantages to Jamie’s Italian – it’s used in 25 of the chain’s sites – and that he was delighted that the new venture would be able to enjoy the same benefits. “The Jamie’s Italian experience has been that QSR’s ConnectSmart Kitchen automation speeds up service, improves food quality, and delivers significant cost savings,” he says.
QSR’s ConnectSmart Kitchen (CSK) software helps chefs determine which food items to focus on and how to prepare those items. CSK automatically assigns items to individual chef’s workstations, based on the prep times of each item on a particular order – so that all items for the order complete at the same time. The software aims to deliver faster kitchen preparation and delivery, enhanced food quality, and reduced working stress.
“QSR has led the way in developing the technology and provides a complete package that delivers a significant ROI” says Simon Blagden.
